Evelyn S. Cahalen

Evelyn S. Cahalen is a Commander with the Montgomery County, Maryland, Police Department. She has 23 years of law enforcement experience with the Montgomery County Police Department.

Evelyn has had various assignments during her career, to include DARE instructor, Public Information Officer, Director of the Internal Affairs Division, Director of the Family Crimes Division, and currently as the Commander of the 5th District. Additionally she has taught ethics at the police academy to recruits and In-Service training, as well as with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Community Policing Institute. She is an adjunct instructor at Montgomery Community College, and has been invited as a guest instructor for the Police Executive Leadership Program of the Johns Hopkins University. She teaches nationwide for the International Association of Chief’s of Police.

Evelyn is certified by the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training Program (SLATT), United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, as an instructor in anti-terrorism detection, investigation, and interdiction.

Evelyn has a Master of Science degree in Management from The Johns Hopkins University, Police Executive Leadership Program, in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice from The American University in Washington, DC.
